I am a publish author as of 2017. I love writing and finding other friends who are writers who encourage me in my craft.
I thought I was writing a standalone book with my first book, “The Father’s Cabin”. I penned it after envisioning my daughter enduring hardship in a dream. Jesus came in a green t-shirt and blue jeans to walk her through everything. Writing revealed discord within the church, from piano placement to carpet color. I felt that needed addressing. So the background is that of a church that changed it format.
My second book, “Sara, A Princess in the Making,” is about Beth ( from the Father’s Cabin) friend Sara, who has a story of her own to tell. Human trafficking is tough for the church to talk about, and that was why I wrote the book. Sara’s Homecoming, a sequel, was slated for 2024, but plans faltered.
So, instead I wrote a children’s book called “The Rocks Cry Out” A story about a gift from my father-in-law, where he put in a rock garden. Here is the beginning of a series of children’s books on the Fruits of the Spirit, and the general idea is based on the park that I live in. It’s a lovely place, and the seniors here are very active. I aspired to tell a story that the children of today will remember that their grandparents still have a lot of living to do!
The second book in that series, “A Stormy Day,” is about trees in the park, and Mr. Big Oak, who has an attitude. Our favorite rock from the previous book, Stoney, is there to tell the story, and he will be narrating the books in this series from now on. Two more will surface within the next two years.
I am writing a devotion series called “Treasures of Earth, Whispers of Heaven.” Its on Amazon Kindle now.
