Embarking on an enchanting journey to unravel the profound significance of the Seven Spirits of God as foretold in Isaiah 11:2-3a, one cannot help but marvel at how these divine attributes have been intricately woven into the very fabric of our existence, harkening back to the moment of creation in Genesis 2. What’s even more fascinating is how these spiritual qualities seem to harmonize beautifully with the intricate tapestry of Isaiah 35, where the promise of spiritual and physical restoration unfolds.
Let’s break down the connections and explore the meaning of these passages.
Isaiah 11:2-3a (ESV) mentions the Seven Spirits of God: “And the Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and the fear of the Lord. And his delight shall be in the fear of the Lord.”
We traditionally understood these Seven Spirits of GodWe traditionally understood these Seven Spirits of God to represent divine attributes or qualities that are imparted to individuals by the Holy Spirit. They are often interpreted:
The Spirit of the Lord
The Spirit of Wisdom
The Spirit of Understanding
The Spirit of Counsel
The Spirit of Might
The Spirit of Knowledge
The Spirit of the Fear of the Lord
Isaiah 35 is a chapter that speaks of future restoration and transformation, often associated with the coming of the Messiah. It describes a time when the desert will bloom, the blind will see, the deaf will hear, and the lame will leap like a deer. It’s a chapter that symbolizes spiritual and physical restoration and transformation.
The connection being made may be in how these Seven Spirits of God can be seen as attributes that are essential for the transformation and restoration described in Isaiah 35. For example:
The Spirit of Wisdom and Understanding: These attributes can help individuals and communities make wise decisions and understand God’s plan for their lives.
The Spirit of Counsel: This spirit can guide people in making the right choices, especially when facing challenges.
The Spirit of Might: This attribute can provide strength and endurance during difficult times.
The Spirit of Knowledge: Knowledge is a key element in understanding God’s ways and His plan for humanity.
The Spirit of the Fear of the Lord: Reverence and a deep respect for God’s authority and guidance are essential for spiritual transformation.
In looking at Isaiah 35:3;
3: “Strengthen hands that are feeble, make firm knees that are weak,”
In the intricate dance of our bodies, neurons are the messengers that guide our every move. They’re like conductors of an orchestra, orchestrating symphonies of thoughts and movements that carry us through life’s intricate passages. However, when these delicate neurons become broken or damaged, the music of our existence falters, and our thoughts and movements come to a hesitant pause.
Yet, within the realm of nature’s offerings, there lies a fascinating potential for renewal. Various foods, herbs, and spices, each a gift from the Earth, possess the astonishing ability to coax the growth of nerve cells in the intricate landscapes of our brains. They serve as the tools of repair, mending the once-frayed connections and revitalizing the pathways of our thoughts and actions.
It’s an intriguing balance that we must strike. While some inflammatory foods may trigger discord within our minds, the wisdom of nourishment guides us toward a healthier path. As we delve deeper into the art of mindful eating, we uncover the secrets to optimizing our brain’s longevity. Our brain is a delicate masterpiece, and with each choice we make, and each morsel we consume, we paint its canvas with the hues of vitality, resilience, and sustained brilliance.
During the last two years, I have had to be on O2 supplemental oxygen periodically, sometimes more than others, because of the stress from this past year. The lack of air and now with my heart being jealous of not being invited to this party of life, my brain is the one area that gets affected first if my O2 or heart rate is lower than it should be. (less the 88% saturation or 40 beats per minute can cause brain issues if left untreated for too long). While I am still investigating and adjusting to things now with a diabetic diagnosis, I am looking at more of a Keto eating plan which includes a good amount of foods conducive to the brain and the rest of my body that has fought with me. With our brain intact we can strengthen our hands and our feet as the neurons begin to work together for a stable body.
4: Say to the fearful of heart: Be strong, do not fear! Here is your God. He comes with vindication; With divine recompense, He comes to save you.
The Heart stores a lot of what we think or do. The Spirit of Council works to bring those areas to fruition in a good way. While the brain receives the thoughts to move our bodies and bring strength, the Heart absorbs the council and the truth from what we think.
The last couple of weeks I have started Power Walking around my park to get my heart rate up, granted when the weather was more conducive, and my dog was more agreeable to my needs over hers. I follow an app called “Fit” that measures my heart rate to raise it. My goal is to lower my A1C and lose the excess weight that I carry. It’s no good in my heart.
5: Then the eyes of the blind shall see, and the ears of the deaf be opened; 6: Then the lame shall leap like a stag, and the mute tongue sing for joy.
The Spirit of Wisdom helps our eyes to see what the heart is convening from our thoughts. With The Spirit of Might, we can hear clearly what God is saying. Even in our darkest moments, God can show Himself, and we can hear the words He is speaking. Think of 2 Kings 6:17.
Elisha prayed, “O Lord, please open the servants’ eyes so he may see”. The Lord opened the servant’s eyes, and he saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire.
The Spirit of Wisdom shows us the way out when we feel stuck, by working with the Spirit of Council (heart). Like I said earlier, it’s been a tough year emotionally for me and I am slowly getting back to being the person I was before.
The thoughts of the brain connect to the heart and then speak with our tongue. The tongue is the weakest muscle in the body. God has used The Spirit of Might to strengthen this arena. The Spirit of Might covers the Ears, Nose and Throat areas and are created to work together with the tongue when we speak. Its the connection that we listen for.
I was curious on some rumors that had taken place in an event and was close to the individuals involved. I was going to ask someone about a situation that took place and instead I heard a small voice in my spirit that I knew was from The Spirit of the Lord. I was told to ask about something else relating to the situation. What was told was more concise about the event’s progress, and did not bring up the other areas where friends had been involved. Which, in turn, was best.
Once our minds, our hearts, and what we can visualize and hear are in line with God’s Word,
7: “A highway will be there, called the holy way; No one unclean may pass over it, but it will be for his people; no traveler, not even fools, shall go astray on it. (Sorry had to add this video as it was going through my head when I typed the verse! Love the Gaithers, Signature Sound, and Ernie Haase!)
The rest of The Seven Spirits of God fall in line, The Spirit of Understanding, (stomach) The Spirit of Knowledge (our 5 vertebrae, small intestines, and female parts), and The Spirit of the Fear (Reverence) of the Lord (Large intestines, colon, and male parts) will help the redeemed to walk, and enter Zion as they are ransomed of the Lord returning, being met with The Spirit of God with joy and Gladness, and sorrow and mourning with glee.
In Isaiah 33:16-20, God shows how life will be when we concentrate on who He is and allow His Spirit to reign in us.
The Lord’s justice will dwell in the desert,
his righteousness live in the fertile field.
17: The fruit of that righteousness will be peace;
its effect will be quietness and confidence forever.
18: My people will live in peaceful dwelling places,
in secure homes,
in undisturbed places of rest.
19: Though hail flattens the forest,
and the city is leveled completely,
20: how blessed you will be,
sowing your seed by every stream,
and letting your cattle and donkeys range free.
No matter where we are in life, God has not forsaken us. His justice still dwells, whether it is in the desert or on the fertile field. We win in the battle because we have His Spirit reigning in us.
